Event: We Heart Horror & Movie Ramblings launch Harlow Horror Night with Black Christmas

OK, so this is an almighty ‘blowing your own trumpet’ moment coming up here, but Movie Ramblings, along with our good friends at We Heart Horror, are launching our very own horror night next month.

Held at the media theatre at Essex’s University Centre Harlow (hence ‘Harlow Horror Night’), the December 11th launch event will see senior tutor/chief writer Simon Fitzjohn give a talk on director Bob Clark.

The talk will tie in with the December 1st release of Fitzjohn’s book on the horror films of Clark (through Hemlock Books), which looks in detail at the making of the likes of Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things, Deathdream and, of course, seminal 1974 shocker Black Christmas.

By Simon Fitzjohn - 17th November 2014

Following the talk, we will be screening Black Christmas as well as hosting a brief Q&A on the making of the film post-screening.

As an additional treat, director Katie Bonham will be joining us to kick the night off by screening her latest short film, The Paper Round, after wowing the Frightfest judges with her previous effort (The Porcelain Ground).

The event will start at 7pm and tickets are free, but due to limited seating we will need to know the names of those that plan to attend in advance – email simon@movieramblings.com for further details.

The plan is to use this evening as a springboard to further events in the future, so we would love as many people to attend as possible!

In case anyone is unaware of just what delights Black Christmas holds for them (shame on you), here’s the original trailer:
